We also use a variety of other eastern methods, such as Cupping, Gua Sha, Auriculotherapy, and Chinese herbs.

It is no secret that our physical, mental, and emotional well-being are interconnected—that our environment and life experiences, from injuries to illness and trauma, can change our bodies just as much as our health affects how we carry ourselves and perceive the world around us.
We see this connection and the ways it manifests in our patient’s health everyday.
Our Acupuncture treatments value these connections and use a personalized, holistic approach to treat the underlying roots of your condition, beyond the symptom-level. Our care is meant to facilitate your own healing process so you can reclaim a deeper sense of relief, harmony, and embodiment.
Acupuncture is an effective form of medical treatment that has evolved into a complete holistic health care system. Practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese medicine have used this noninvasive treatment method to help millions of people become well and stay well.
Acupuncture promotes natural healing. It can enhance recuperative power and immunity, support physical and emotional health, and improve overall function and well-being. It is a safe, painless and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems.

Cupping therapy is an adjunctive technique used in acupuncture treatments. An ancient technique used in various cultures it has become increasing more popular in today's society as celebrities and professional athletes have been outspoken regarding the benefits.
It is a cutaneous bodywork modality that improves the circulation of blood, lymph and qi and removes metabolic toxins in the skin, fascia and muscle tissues. Cupping therapy employs the use of suction between a cup and the skin to gently pull the superficial tissues. The vacuum is created by either heat or a hand pump.
CUPPING METHODS
Fixed cupping:
Cups are placed on a selected area of your body and then left for about 5-15 minutes without being moved. This method will result in temporary discoloration of the skin, petechiae, and are associated with improved blood flow to the area and naturally, dissipate within a few days.
Moving cupping:
Therapeutic oil is applied to the area prior to the cupping procedure which allows the cups to move along the muscle fibers and affected meridians. This method leaves no skin discoloration.

Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese practice that would traditionally be performed by stimulating the skin with hard-sided items such as jade or bone. It is a practice that could be a cousin to acupuncture and massage but emphasizes the direct localized force of the item on the skin of the patient. It works to increase the blood flow under the skin and the circulation in the soft tissue under the skin. This, in turn, has numerous positive effects on the body including anti-inflammatory and immune system benefits.
Gua sha is most often used to relieve muscle and joint pain. Conditions of the muscles and bones are known as musculoskeletal disorders. Some examples include back pain, tendon strain, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Practitioners claim that gua sha can also benefit the immune system and reduce inflammation. Sometimes, gua sha is used to treat a cold, fever, or problems with the lungs.
Small injuries to the body, such as the bruises caused by gua sha, are sometimes known as microtrauma. These create a response in the body that may help to break up scar tissue.

Chinese herbal medicines treat the underlying causes of illness rather than individual symptoms. At Evolve we apply a holistic approach to the use of herbs to address physical, emotional and spiritual issues. Once a practitioner has assessed a patient’s specific needs, a formula is individually created to stimulate the body’s natural healing powers. While most over-the-counter herbal products can only address physical ailments with standardized, pre-formulated dosing, our herbal practitioners are educated to design custom-made formulas for each individual. No two formulas are alike. This focus on individualization puts the patient’s specific needs in the forefront, and just as importantly, takes into consideration any possible interactions with prescribed medications..
Our products are sourced from reputable distributors which follow strict farming, harvesting, processing, and manufacturing guidelines.

Auriculotherapy, or ear acupuncture, is an alternative medicine treatment in which specific points on the ear are stimulated in order to promote healing in other areas of the body. As with the type of acupuncture practiced in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), hair-thin needles inserted into the skin often are used. However, ear acupuncture also can be performed with lasers, electricity, heat, magnetic balls, seeds, or finger pressure.
Although based on the ancient principles of TCM, ear acupuncture is quite modern, having been developed in the mid-20th century by French physician Paul Nogier. Since then, it has been shown in studies to be useful for an array of medical issues, including substance abuse, insomnia, smoking cessation, various types of pain, and more.
Auricular acupuncture regards the ear as a "microsystem" comprised of acupuncture points that coordinate to every part of the body.
In modern medicine, ear acupuncture has been used to treat pain, anxiety, addiction, promote sound sleep, aid in smoking cessation, and more. In addition to anecdotal evidence, there has been research to support the effectiveness of auricular acupuncture for many of these purposes.
Functional Medicine
At Evolve Acupuncture and Wellness we believe that Functional Medicine is the cornerstone of restoring good health.
Functional Medicine is an approach that focuses on preventing and reversing chronic disease by treating the root causes of illness with diet and lifestyle change.
Functional Medicine is individualized, personalized medicine. We all have unique genetic and environmental variations that set the stage for health or disease. Sleep, nutrition, relationships, stress, movement all matter because they are modifiable elements of our lifestyle that influence gene expression.
Functional Medicine is a proactive approach to achieve optimal wellness and prevent future diseases. The emphasis is on homeostasis and health – rather than disease and diagnosis. Functional Medicine addresses why. Why do people get a disease? Why are some people more susceptible than others? We attempt to understand what symptoms mean, rather than cover them up with medications.
Through the use of functional lab testing and other diagnostic techniques we are able to get to the root of our patients health concerns. We incorporate the use of nutritional supplements, botanicals, herbs, appropriate nutritional programs well as stress management protocols.
Our patients are active participants in the journey back to optimal health. Our goals are to prevent chronic disease and restore vitality, not just eliminate symptoms.
We are extremely excited to be one of the few practitioners working in this new medical paradigm. Unlike conventional medicine, it is a radical new way of thinking about health and disease. It is not just another treatment protocol, but a way of applying strategies based on the genetic makeup and lifestyle history of each patient as well as internal (mind, body, spirit) and external (physical and social environment) factors that affect the body’s overall function.
Holistic Nutrition
We will not only help you achieve the right nutritional balance—we will also teach you how to avoid toxic exposure, reduce stress, and gain more control over your health.
Holistic Nutrition is nutrition-based care that is focused on building health by restoring proper physiological functioning of the body. Symptoms are our bodies way of telling us that something is out of balance. When you have multiple symptoms, these are clues to the ways in which your body is not functioning the way that it should be. Rather than suppress those symptoms with natural or pharmaceutical agents, we want to “read” those symptoms to understand which systems in your body need support to get back on track so that you can have optimal health.
By looking at your whole picture including diet, symptoms, illness history, medications, lifestyle, toxic exposure, history of antibiotic use, stress, lab work, etc. we are able to put together a comprehensive approach and plan. That plan serves as an overall map of the nutrition your body needs to regain health and prevent illness. The holistic approach assumes that food contains molecules that are necessary, purposeful and designed to support life, promote well being and optimal health. Looking at clinical nutrition from a functional perspective means understanding the roles of these molecules in human beings, and then using them in specific ways to address patients illnesses.
We work with patients and clients who have not found the solutions to their chronic health issues, as well as those interested in preventive health, and who are willing to commit to making dietary changes. We have systems in place to help each patient find the right nutritional plan for their individual needs.
We create personalized protocols to solve your health challenges.
We do this by looking at your personal health history, lifestyle, lab tests, genetics, and more.
